A lovely little rant...
I was coming home on a beautiful september day last week from work, and I stopped at the front door to get the mail. Flipping through to see what was mine, low and behold my Visa bill was there. Oh lovely.
I looked down to see what I had to pay, and the minimum balance popped out at me... 0$
I thought, well thats odd, have I just been that good that they dont want me to pay them anything? Then I saw the little attatched paper:
"To help ease the financial strain of the season we've reduced your minimum payment this month to $0. You can, of course, make a payment if you wish. Interest charges will be calculated as usual."
My jaw dropped as I spun around to look into the yard, I expected to see three feet of snow, my breath in the frosty air, kids throwing snow balls and making a snow man, and a chorous of carolers rounding the corner. Instead it was a beautiful fall afternoon with kids walking home in tshirts, riding their bikes, and playing with chalk.
Since when did September get included in the financial strain of the fall season? Have people really taken Christmas to that level, where the "season" is a full 1/4 of the year? Is it really necessary for stores to start selling Christmas decorations and ornaments BEFORE Halloween? Dont get me wrong, I'm not trying to ba humbug anything, and I do like Christmas, but in September?!
Its still above zero in September!
Whatever happened to the "reason for the season?"

Motions
So this summer has been so busy... Drove to Tulsa Oklahoma and back for PEAK, then turned around 6 days later for Red Deer and The Canadian Plaines Camp meeting. (If you want to get the funniest look ever from someone, get your oil changed, then drive 6000Km in about 2 weeks, and get it changed again... The attendants look when you tell him you were there 2 weeks ago will have you rolling on the floor for hours...)
It has been a summer full of promise, amazing and wonderful church, and many many memories.
While on the trip down to Tulsa we had the Serious radio on in the car. A song came on that I had never heard before its called "The Motions" by Matthew West. It really stuck in my brain and I asked my sister to write down the name of the song so that I could find it when I got home.
The past few days I have had that song stuck in my head permanently. This morning I woke up with it in my head and could not stop singing it, and thats what I prayed quite a bit in the past few days.
I dont want everything that Ive experienced this summer at the conferences Ive attended pass me by. I will not let it be motions that I went through while at those conferences because there were so many people there, or because I was "in the moment." I want to hang on with everything Ive got to everything I have recieved, acheived, and experienced this summer.
Because I dont want it to be just motions. Ever.

The Latte Factor
When awoken at the unGodly hour of quarter till 6 in the morning, I was unable to go back to sleep... I started by reading cook books, but I just keep drooling on my pillow, so I switched to a book that was DEEP inside my night stand and rather dusty. Its one that some very kind soul at the bank gave me called Start Late, Finish Rich. The no fail plan for acheiveing ginancial freedom AT ANY AGE!
I thought OK... cool... sounds like a good read, and randomly flipped it open... the first page I came too was the beginning of the chapter called "find your double latte factor". Thinking to myself, I could seriously use one of those right now, I started in on it.
The chapter goes on to describe societys "latte factor". Essentially we are programmed to spend, spend, spend, wheather it be sales, or that little extra treat that we have for ourselves, like a monthly manicure, pedicure, or daily latte, we are constantly spending. The book went on to talk about how everyone thinks that by recieving a raise, or even winning the lottery and getting more money will solve the problems. Thats not so. Most people dont even notice the difference when they get a raise. Simply because when they realize that they will have a little more that month, they do that much more shopping, eating out, etc.
That brought the chapter to its "climax" using Sharon. Sharon apparently went on Oprah to talk about the debt that her family had amounted on credit cards. She always thought that with her, or her husbands next raise, (now she was making about 60 grand a year by herself.) Oprah and whoever she had on her show as a money manager, (I think it was the author) went on to tell her that if she stopped spending JUST her manicure and massage money (that amounted to almost 250$ a month (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I wish...) she would save by retirement, over $200,000. :-O
This made me think about what I spend things on. I certainly make enough to live on (I only have a car payment and insurance, because I still live at home and my parents dont charge me rent.... yet). But I always find its tight at the end of the month. The more I thought of it, the more I realized that it was because of my Latte Factor. The little things I buy, like that pair of shoes that are on sale, that extra something to munch on while on break. uh... Garage sales... (although I am happy to report I have only gone out about 3 times with my mom this year) etc, adds up to a LOT....
That got me thinking some more... (I was really surprised that this worked so well for this early)... What if, for TWO months, I ONLY spent what I needed.... So gas, insurance, cell phone bill, tithes, necessary groceries... and 50$ on other things because I know that I will probably fail otherwise.... What would my bank account look like? How much better off would I be, financially?
So I'm proposing for myself, and anyone out there who is up to the challenge, for the months of September and October, quit your latte factor. Take out 50$ a month in cash, and hide your credit card... if your like me and need it to pay for gas and such then just keep it out of sight...
and see what happens. Maybe that trip, house, debt reduction, whatever, is a LOT closer than you thought it was!
And anyways, who NEEDS more shoes... ;-)

Dreams

I recently had a dream. Within the past couple of days... I just havnt had time to blog until now.
I dreamed that I was blind. But I wansnt blind in the sense that I couldnt see. I was blind in the sense that I could see when something changed. For instance, I went shopping and I knew where everything was, and what was on special and everything. But what I kept thinking was, its always the same and if it changes I wont be able to see it.
It might have been the sausage, cheese and sour cream I ate before bed. Or even something else. But it got me thinking. How true is that of us? We come to church, or to a family function or a gathering or something; and many times we cant see what has changed. Many times I think we notice, but dont want to notice and therefore dont recognise the change. But sometimes I think that we are so wrapped up in things, in our own little world, that we just cant notice the change and just totally miss it.
For instance: My little sister is thirteen. To me she will always be little, with a soother, eating cat food. But recently I noticed that she is seriously growing.... not necesarily matureing in some ways, but definately growing. Many times Ill look for her at church, or at other functions and I cant find her because I dont recognise her!
I also never remember what grade shes in.
Seth is another example. It sounds funny, but when I talk to him I still expect him to not always be talking back! I was amazed when both he and Hanna were asking me questions about Volcanos, Earthquakes, and other natural disasters. I remember when Seth followed my cat around and put her toys in Garys shoes for him to find later!
Its funny how we expect everything to stay the same, and are taken abac by change, even if its sometime for the better. We get so caught up in a routine, that when it changes our world seems out of line and the world may come to an end. Weather its changing seats at church because were running so absolutely packed Sundays that we need every seat we can get, or coming to the realization that your younger brother is supposed to graduate next year, and can get his drivers license (Lord help us ALL!). I think everyone needs to open their eyes and see that things are changing, and if you dont keep up, it wont wait for you!

Ingo and Air
Ive been meaning to post for.... ever... I feel like I say that every time I post but so be it, its true!
I have recently finished reading the first book in a series of three. The book called Ingo, is an interesting combination of sci fi fantasy... and yes it is from the youth section at my library but still, I thought it was a good book! Anyways...
The basic plot line is this: A happy family is torn apart when the father goes "missing" just off the coast of their home. His body never found the kids have a feeling that he isnt dead, but instead he was sung into "Ingo". Ingo is basically under the sea. The children while on the beach one day find that they too can go into Ingo, with the help of 2 mermaids their own age.
The thing that got me the most and caught my attention in the whole book was this, everytime they went from "Air" to "Ingo" it hurt when they went through the "skin" of the water (basically the point where they went from breathing air to breathing water). And I kept thinking about that. Ingo is a cool place to go, and it was fun to visit, but as time goes on the girl (Sapphy) finds it harder and harder to go back to "Air" because now instead of feeling the hurt when she goes into Ingo, she only feels it when she tries to come out. She is loosing herself to Ingo.
All I could think about is how much is that like playing with the world. At first it hurts when you try to do things, your conscious helps to guard you. But the longer and harder you push against your conscious the less and less its their until it hurts to go BACK to what you knew because everything seems so messed up, You seem so messed up. And your dead conscious can no longer call you back, everything right could be wrong but you would never know.
You can't straddle the line between Ingo and Air, you have to choose one. Ingo can kill you in an instant, while Air gives so many more chances. I for one choose to breathe deeply and live in the Air. No one can put just a toe in for want of putting the whole foot in, then both legs, and arms.... and and and... until finaly without your realization Ingo has you in its fingertips, and could drown you before Air has a chance to get to you.

Walking the dog
I feel bad because I havnt posted in, well it seems like forever.
But I havnt really had any lightbulb ideas lately, and everything has been busy. And I am not very good at excuses.
About a month ago we got a dog. I came home one night from work, and there was a wolf in my kitchen. Actually it was a german shepherd Siberian huskie cross, but she wasnt exactly the tiniest thing around. She was from the SPCA in Lloyd, and had come to my brothers pet store to be put in a home... The petcetera where Gary works takes and sells only cats and puppies from the SPCA and gives them good homes and new "forever" families.
We had her at our house for a trial period. We needed to see how she would interact with our three cats, and we wanted to get to know her a bit better. She stayed at the house for 3 days, and then came home with Gary freshly groomed and carrying her adoption papers.
There is a bit of a change now. The cats are a bit nervous still (Teddy who is the biggest is the most scared), but there are no major fights, and everyone gets along quite well.
This morning Sandy and I went for a walk. We ran for some of it but I guess mostly we walked. We parked at river landing and went from there all the way around to the University bridge, and then through down town, and back to the car.
Near the Broadway bridge there was this small set of hills that had gophers running in and out of holes. I thought Sandy was going to take me for a ride, she wanted the gophers SO badly! I finally pulled a "cookie" out of my pocket, and held it in front of her nose to get her to come with me... I had to nearly keep BOTH of my hands on her collar in order for her not to get away. That and the Canada goose... Sandy did not seem to understand why she couldnt chase the duck into the river... and was rather confused.
All in all we have been absolutely blessed with this beautiful beautiful dog, who doesnt chew, listens, and is an absolute doll with kids and strangers. She is ten, so she doesnt have many years left but for now, she is ours, and we love her to death!

Give it up....

Like all of my great Epiphanys this one came in church. Last Sunday night when Brother Corteau was preaching, about the tide of freshness, this scene from a book popped into my head. When I say a scene from a book, I mean what I thought of when I read that particular section. When I read its like... my head makes its own little movie, with all the little characters and stuff.
In this particular book, the main character is trying to decide between two boys. Its really hard to explain, but basically she loves both of them , and they both want her so she has to decide. In the particular scene im talking about she is hugging one of the boys, and crying. As shes crying she can feel a part of her heart that that particular boy had, break off and die. Although he has been a good friend to her she knows that the other boy is much better for her.
And as I thought of this, I realized that I can't hang on to two things. My heart doesnt have room to fit both. I either have to choose like the character did. I either pick one, or the other.
I can choose one, that will appease my friends, because that would be going along with what they want, and of course that would also be the easiest road.
Or I could choose the harder path. A path that some people wont understand. Giving up everything in me, for something that is SO much greater.
And as I sat there I realized that as much as I had been trying to convice myself that I was living everything right, I realized that there was still that little bit of my heart that was trying to hang on to something else.... And that little peice had to go....
And so it did.
I am not perfect, and I know I never will be. I can strive to be the best that I can be, and thats what I will do. And just like the main character, I will let go, and choose the road that I know is right, even though the life will be hard, and I wont always get things my way. I know its the best way, and thats what makes it a journey worth traveling.

Dirty Glasses...

This is just something that I keep thinking about... Its been going around and around in my head and if I didnt blog about it my head was going to explode... I think...
It didnt turn out exactly how I wanted it too but I'm posting it anyways.... I probably wouldnt be able to find the right words eventually anyways, so this is what came about...
Sometimes, because we are human, and just because we can do it, we view our lives through dirty coke bottle glasses... Instead of being able to see clearly we end up with a very distorted and dim view of the lives we lead. Instead of being able to focus on the better things, our good qualities, we end up seeing the mud spattered, backwords person staring back in the mirror... Now this person might be covered in mud from a day out with friends, who all had a good time, but instead of focusing on that, all we can focus on is how bad we look.
I dont care how bad your life is messed up, you smoke? you drink? your parents are divorced, seperated etc? Why does that have to make you a bad person? why does that determine who YOU turn out to be... no one but YOU can deicde who you turn out to be. Its your decisions that determine that...
Now dont get your knickers in a knot... EVERYONE makes bad decisions every once in a while... Some people more than that! No one is perfect, for those of you who think you are, your not, now deal with it...
Just because you see a struggling, awkword, geekey person looking at you in the mirror, doesnt mean that someone else looks at you and sees a curagous, strong, funny, interesting, and fun person to be around.
Quit beating yourself up, take off the glasses, and look again. You might be surprised at what you find... and when you do see what you are, and will become, you will make someone proud...

Pockets
My Grandfather is definately one of a kind. I can see quite a bit of my mother in him. If you know my mother then you know what im talking about... Yes the Toilet paper, taking home leftoevers, and Waiting for things to go on sale is hereditary.
While in Prince Edward Island, I did quite a bit of the cooking. I can honestly say although she is getting better, my mother is not the greatest cook in the world. It just is not her thing. And my grandmother relished the thought of someone else in the kitchen so that she didnt have to cook... My grandfather was slightly wary because when your wife cooks the same assortment of dishes, and youve been married for 60 years, change in food, especially me doing the cooking. Me who likes to break out the curry, ginger, or add any odd assortment of things to my cooking (the recepie is more of a guideline lets say...)
Whenever I cooked my Grandfather usually found his way into the kitchen, and would clean the pot out after I had scraped it. And i mean he would clean it out. My mom and i kept teasing him bout how we wernt sure if there was any finish left on the pot! He would also sit and sharpen the knives for me so that they were always nice and sharp, or peel things for me. He was quite handy that way and I enjoyed his company quite muchly. Although by the time I was there for about a week I had been banned from making any more sweets... By my dear grandfather himself... He had gained 5 pounds from my cooking!
But I digress...
When we go to visit them, my mom in particular because shes there twice a year, we always bring presents. My mom always tries to bring clothes or lotion or just something they will like and use (like slippers... you think my moms bad for not throwing things out... phew shes tame compared to my grandfather!) In particular my grandfather always likes it when she brings home pants.
It sounds really weird, but beacause they are old, and dont get around as much any more, they are slowing down and their shape is changing . Its hard for them to go shopping so sometimes my mom does it for them and brings it with her. My grandfather always likes the pants she brings him because they have what he likes.
There are specifics. For winter they usually have to be lined some how. Either lined, or very thick fleece. And even then he will wear long underwear underneath.
For summer they need to be quite thin, with usually no lining. fabric wise hes quite similar for shirts as well.
But one thing that all of his pants have to have is pockets. They are not considered pants unless they have at LEAST 4 pockets. Your usual side pockets, hopefully the back pockets over the bottom. And his FAVORITE, cargo pockets. In his eyes ALL pants should have cargo pockets.
Whenever he gets a new pair of pants the first thing he does is sits there and examines all of the pockets. He will unzip, or unsnap, or unvelcro them all, and stick his hands in, feel around, get the size of the pocket, sometimes he will pull out the pocket innard and inspect it... But all of the pockets must be checked.
And do not doubt, ALL of the pockets will be used. Some will hold Kleenex, another his jacknife, peppermints, some type of paper, possibly a peice of string, and any other numerous assortments of objects.
My Grandfather is certainly one of a kind, he is a man that I look up to for his strength, perserverance, and his faithfulness to, as well as his walk with God... He is a man that I love, and miss dearly everysingle day.
I cherish the time that I get to spend with my aging grandparents because I know that any day they could go. They are blessed, to be 88 and 95, and still live by themselves, in their own home.
I love them to pieces and will always remember their little quirks...

Tired of Nothing
I wrote this while on my trip but couldnt add it because I had no internet... for two whole weeks... now THAT was an experience!! lol
On my recent trip to visit my dear elderly grandparents in Prince Edward Island on the eastcoast of Canada; I found myself following a very different routine.
At home I am usually quite fast paced, usually busy running hither and thither throughout the city, to work, church, picking someone up dropping someone off. And as much as I often take the time to smell the roses and read my library books, this was quite the experience.
My grandparents are both quite elderly. My Grandfather will be 96 this July, and my Grandmother will be 89 two days later. They live together alone with no help coming inexcept a housekeeper once every 2 weeks to help with vaccuming and dusting, and the healthnurse to come in and take blood every once and a while. Grammie still cooks breakfast and it is a sit down meal complete with placemats, bowl of porridge, and toast plate, whetheror not you are having toast. Early to bed early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wiseis not just a saying here, but also put into practice.
The first few nights we were here, by ten things were quickly winding down and we were gettting into bed if not there already. Usually by around 9 the gravitational pull was toomuch for my grandparents and We would all end upstairs getting ready for bed.
The nights that we went upstairs early without a doubt someone would call, it would be Bo, or Uncle David, or who knows else.
Meals here are quite square, and if not served by the usual time, you could find a slightlybewildered Grandfather in his kitchen chair looking around for his lunch. And if not served shortly after well goodness me he would have a knife and SOMETHING in his hand to cut up. Weather it be an apple, some cheese, a tomato, or even munching on something by his lazy boy.
Immediately after lunch is nap time, and everyone can be found dozing quite nicely in their usual spot. Grampy in his Lazy boy, Grammie on the bed upstairs, Mom in the other chair downhere, and myself on the couch, or upstairs in the "pink" room, my designated spot whenever Istay here, unless someone else is here too.
Then supper is usually wrapped up by 530, and then we agian find our spots, and mom and I fightover the laptop to see who will play solitare,If mom wins I usually findmyself in the kitchen Cooking SOMTHING (I was evenutally banned by my grandfather from making anything sweet because in the first week ish he gained 5 pounds from my cooking...) , and grammie reads the paper, and grampie sits in his chair and looks out the window to see which dog is walking the owner tonight.
The odd thing is though, that even though we kept slightly busy, doing light chores around the house all day, or running errands through Charlottetown, by around 6pm we were all tired, and STRUGGLING to stay up....
I missed my faster pace of life, but I must say that it was quite nice to be able to sit and contemplate things, and come up with WONDERFUL ideas, that will fly like lead balloons. But it was nice to have a break from the rush and bubble of regular society.
The only realy rush and bubble that we had the whole trip was Easter Monday. One of grandfatherssisters (my Great Aunt Hazel), her husband, their son and his two children came along with one of my other great aunts (Helen now deceised) Daughter and her husband came as well.
That made life interesting... trying to fit 11 in the kitchen was quite interesting. And cooking in that small kitchen was like trying to swim in a teacup, but we made due.
All in all it was wonderufly to see a totally different way of life, and to slow down and take a very large WHIFF of the flowers standing by the side of the road. Just watch for the mud round here. Theres an AWFUL lot of water!

Tapdancing Mice
This is JUST because its Tuesday....
In a Cold and dreary land, two farily good looking maidens decided to take a long journey to a far reaching land. So they packed their suitcases, and headed to the nearest airport. After a whole day, and many long airport layovers, the very tired pretty good looking maidens, arrived at their destination. And the fairly good looking maidens lived in comfort and luxury at a five star hotel.
But their journey was just beginning for the very next day, they received a dreaded message. At a nearby Mall, there was a sale. Arming themselves with the most up to date Visa, Mastercards, and even a few American Expresses for back up, they headed into the mall on guard. It was a day longer than anything the fairly good looking maidens had ever encountered in their entire lives. Extended mall hours, and savings of up to seventy percent off. But the maidens, held their own, and while slowly the masses faded into oblivion, they pushed on, through every shoe store, forever twenty-one, and Icing, until finally they had conquered them all.
Exhausted and sore, the maidens fell into their yellow chariot, that returned them to their hotel.
Upon arriving at their room, the maidens noticed a note that had been duct taped to their door.
It read:
Dear Farily good looking maidens,
Your prescense has been requested at breakfast tomorrow, in the Dining hall, at Ten am. Please show up promptly!
Yours Truly,
The Godmother
Filled with curiosity, the maidens fell into a deep slumber.
* * *
The next morning at the very early hour of ten, the fairly goodlooking maidens walked into the dining room. The Godmother, in her neon green mou mou, walked over and showed them to their table. Sitting at the table, were two very strange, and mysterious creatures known as men. Slightly taken back to be introduced to such a rare creature, the fairly goodlooking maidens stared in shock and awe! They could not believe their eyes! Real men, buff, intelligent, goodlooking, men. The fairly goodlooking maidens, could not believe their luck. Not only did the fairy godmother want to see them, but it seemed she wanted to matchmake as well!
So the maidens sat and ate breakfast, with the Godmother and the Men, and pondered their goodfortune.
But before they could ponder too much, they recieved another dreaded phone call. A sale, the biggest sale in the history of sales, was starting in ten minutes. Excusing themselves the fairly goodlooking maidens raced upstairs to prepare for battle.
With their creditcards held high, the fairly good looking maidens raced to the mall, to gather all the good deals they could!!!
After the longest day of shopping either girl had ever experienced, both men, picked them up and carried them back to the hotel, where they lay the fairly good looking maidens on beds of sweet grass, and fed them sweet nectar, and honey...
Over the next few weeks the Fairly goodlooking maidens fell deeply in love with their men. When it was time to leave, their luggage was muchly overweight due to sales, and at the airport there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth over the fact that they would have to make a long and arduous journey back to their home, where there would be no men. How could the fairly good looking maidens SURVIVE!?!?!?!?
* * *
I dont know either, this was just a story i was compelled to write by a friend and some late night "talking"... Ill finish this some day, OBVIOUSLY they live happily ever but for right now you can just imagine what happens to the fairly goodlooking maidens, and how they get to the happily ever after part...... lol... thanks for reading!! hope you enjoyed!

Escaping
Last year in about November ish, I was asked by my younger sister Bo if I wanted to chaperone her grade 6/7 class at an outdoor camp. It would be my job along with one other mother to sleep in the little chalet with the girls. I figured, hey I'm a big girl I can rough it.... I got more than I bargained for.
The camp that Bo's class went to is called Shekinah. It is about an hour outside of the city, and I had been there before, once in grade six for a two night stay, and again on I think two other occasions with Evan Hardys ESL class. So I knew what the facility was like. In the last few years they have added a new chalet, and because it is winter, I figured the girls would stay there and the boys would stay in the cabins. I was slightly dissapointed when we arrived at camp and we drove right past the big chalet and on to the older little chalet.
As I walked past the big Chalet, I was slightly Envious, it was BEAUTIFUL, all wooden beams, light up by the lights inside. Absolutely perfect. But I found contentment in the small little chalet that we had for the night. And as the girls all settled down for the night, in front of the wood stove, on our foam mattresses, I thought of how much nicer it would be in the big chalet with more heat, better beds, and plumbing that wasnt tempramental.
But then I also thought of all of the fun that would be missed if we were in the big chalet. Instead of everyone having to work together to do the dishes, sleep in the same room (the girls anyways) and cooperate, we could have just been ourselves not gotten to know each other, and gone unchanged from the experience.
The next morning when snowshoeing, some of the equipment was broken, so I walked instead of snow shoed. I ran back to the chalet to get my camera, and then went to catch up with the kids. As I walked quickly towards where they were, I kept marveling at the perfection, and quiet of everything. And I couldnt help but start to sing.
Although it would have been WONDERFULLY nice to be in the chalet, I had just as good, if not a BETTER time in the litte chalet.
In essence, I was shown that just because I dont have the BEST, of everything, doesnt mean I can't make the BEST of anything. And in truth I realized that Instead of working and striving for everything new and better and the BEST, I need to sometimes stop and see what else is out there. Smell the roses, walk and enjoy the view, and just live the life I was ment to live.
I can't rush life no matter how hard I try, when I try to do things my way, I just get in the way of the bigger things that are planned for me.

Saleosis
I have come to a conclusion today. Some may say it is one that is terribly overdue, but seeing as I am quite slow some days it almost comes as a surprise to me... almost.
Today at work it was VERY quiet... SO quiet that two hours into my four hour shift they asked if they could send me home... I thought that was just ducky, and so signed out, grabbed my bag and my jacket, and then grabbed a basket to look at what was on sale. I wandered the isles, searching for nothing in particular. When AHA! what doth my eyes perceive???? A half price sticker.... Now... Although I dont particularely NEED a heat and serve pasta dish with portabello mushroom sauce, beans, and red peppers.... its on sale, and therefore found its way into my basket, through the checkout, riding along with me in the car, and then into the fridge at my house... actually now that I think about it... EVERYTHING in my basket was half price... I guess thats why the casheir looked at me funny O_o
This little spark of insight caused me to look deeper into my shopping habits and find... with little surprise to NO one... The MAJORITY of things that i buy... are on sale... and because they are on sale, I seem to be able to justify being able to buy them... Not that I really NEED to buy more deoderant, shampoo, socks, or even inflatable furniture, my body seems to gravitate towards anything that has a sign proclaiming SALE! and my my, its half off.. what a deal!!!
From experience I believe this disease is Hereditary, although varying forms of strength, from not buying anything unless its on sale or you can barter it down at a garage sale (my dear mother), or just buying it because its on sale (myself) this disease is crippling and sometimes debilitating (have you ever seen my mother try to order at a resteraunt? you see my point)... In any case it must be stopped!!
lol, im not quite sure how, but if you feel the need you could always donate!!!
I know I am getting better (some days) at buying things and not cheaping out and getting no-name cuz its cheaper, or buying things JUST its on sale... but it has been SO engrained into me, buying things on sale and such...that I fear someday when I'm older and grey or something, I may get worse! I could even turn into my mother!!!!!!!!!! :-O
Just kidding, I love you mom...

Hindsight
Just before chirstmas I was thinking about hindsite.
While wrapping giveaway gifts at "Lush" with one of the girls (for our anniversary spend fifty get blablabla you get the idea) we were talking about people, their attitudes, and how some people just dont get it.... and I made the comment, that hindsight is twenty twenty, but some people view it through rose tinted glasses. The girl I was working with stopped, looked at me, and said she had never heard it put better than that.
The point I was trying to make is that some people can see in hindsight, what they did, but they can never see what THEY did wrong. They look at the picture of what happened, and they can pick out EVERYTHING that everyone else did wrong, or what could have been done differently, but they seem to never see that if THEY had done possibly even ONE thing differently, things might have gone very differently.
Essentially this stunts their growth in maturity. Instead of seeing their mistakes and growing from them, or learning to take the fall, they seem to want to place the blame on everyone and everything else. I'm not saying that I'm perfect either, I do it too, but I often go back for a second look to check where I was in the wrong. But, It can't ALWAYs be someone else that has the problem. Even I'm not that perfect.. (lol)
Essentially you have to view the situation from everyones perspective, like today at work for example:
After break I got to be price checker, I like it because its fast paced, and AMAZING exercise. It was slower so I was doing take backs, and the lady at till one had a twelve pack of listerine in her stuff to be retourned... i thought this odd, and she told me that we are actually not supposed to sell someone more than twelve bottles of mouthwash at a time, because they sell it, or soemthing like that, at this point i inserted the fact that some people drink it as well. And she said yes. we commented on something else and then i took her Other stuff and said i would come back for the listerine... (she also had a 10kilo bag of flour and some plant stuff, and i couldnt carry it all in one load...not enough arms)
about oh not even a half hour later, when I went to the front desk, someone asked me (a higher up) if I had been talking to the cashier on lane one.. i said yes i did takebacks, she asked me if the customer was angry or would be upset with us... apparently someone had complained (dont know who why or what, they just complained to the manager) about the cashier ineracting with someone else who worked there (apparently me because i was the only one around at the time)
when asked if i had noticed/said anything i said no, i was just doing takebacks.. but when i thought about it i then added our conversation about the listerine and my comments.. If i get fryed for them so be it, but at least i was honest....
In viewing the situation at the cash desk in hindsight i probably could have kept my remarks to myself (duh) but, even if i get into trouble, i can learn from my mistake, instead of thinking that i can just go shooting my mouth off all the time...
I know this was an incredibly stupid example but it was the most recent that i could think of.... anyways thats all i have on that thought for the time being..
I must say i am very proud of the fact that i have now posterfied THREE times in the past 24 hours! and in hindsight, i dont know what took me so long to post XD

Dark Glasses
Ok so I wanted to Apologize because I feel SUPER UBER bad that I have totally neglected this aaaaaaaaand not written on here for, way way way too long, like three months too long… but life gets so busy and complimicated that at times its tough to do anything… I was talking with a highschool friend today and it made me TOTALLY realize that time really does fly when your not paying attention… I cant even believe that this time last year we were already (well some of us) counting down the days until school would be over FOREVER (highschool anyways)… Now many of my friends ar in university, others are on the other side of the world, studying, ooooooooooor over there for learning experinces (like living in Spain to learn Spanish…. Anyways I decided to finally post something, and I started this about a month ago (while driving two particular people to north battleford) and I finally got my lazy bottom around to finishing it today! So anyways… ENJOY!
Yay though I see through a glass darkly and then face to face. The scripture or soemting quite similar to that was running through my mind today. And for some reason I was thinking of sometihng a little idfferently for some reason… we have such a warped view of the world and the way that it works.. we see through the glass that it is darkened.. but then we also don’t see many times how the world views us …. It is like some days we are in our own tiny little box, with tinted windows and we don’t realize that everything we do is analyzed. Our reaction, attitude, retorts, comments, body language, everything, is looked at and analyzed. In regular life this happens often, but because we choose to live differently, everything is looked at closer, through a microscope, and then if that wasn’t bad enough some days we are then picked apart with a fine tooth comb, to see if they missed anything with the microscope.
But usually what they see is astounding. Instead of bitterness, hate, strife, and everything else that they find in the world, when they look at us they see peace, an oasis of it! And they get curious. We may not realize that every little thing we have done, is showing them God, but when the glass is no longer darkened, and we see at “face” value whats really been going on, we can say, “God is uber Cool and I’m so glad hes in controle because otherwise, life would be more interesting than it is now…

Way Back Track
I was cleaning my room, an ongoing saga, when I came accross some OLD papers. One of which had something I had written last year... After looking at it again, and fixing a few things so it made better sense, this is what it looks like....
We can do nothing sometimes except step back, look around, and then slowly shink screaming back down into the abyss where we belong. Where we come from. Where we all came from. Those who have found their way out who try to pull us out. Are they wrong? We are nothing, we go nowhere, and where we believe we belong, that is where we hide. We lick our wounds of pain, anguish and hurt. Almost no one notices us here, alone, so distantly alone.
Where the laughter of children playing can not tickle our ears, or make us sing. Only cries of hurt and anguish dwell here. Blocking reality, we silently scream at all for help. But fear keeps us from taking any help we receives, pride too.
Pride rears its ugly and screams tortured laughter at the thought of help, let alone something helping us. Whilst the very heart and soul slowly wither and shrink into nothingness, leaving an empty hollow shell that is near impossible to fill.
Some find mediocre cures that last for a time, but most are never truly satisfied.
So with a false front to the world, and crying hearts hiding behind, we all walk empty waiting to be truly found, waiting to be filled. Many look at us and think there is no hope, but we are waiting, you must be patient and bide your time to help us understand. We are looking, but you must show us.
We want to be pulled out, we want a change, we wish to be filled. Not just with , hope, or peace, joy, or love. But with all of these things at once. To be loved. With enough patience and kindness we will finally give in, let it all wash over us, and we will be held once more in loving arms. And be told "I love you my child, for who you are, who you will be, and I forgive you, for ALL you have done"
