Dreams

I recently had a dream. Within the past couple of days... I just havnt had time to blog until now.

I dreamed that I was blind. But I wansnt blind in the sense that I couldnt see. I was blind in the sense that I could see when something changed. For instance, I went shopping and I knew where everything was, and what was on special and everything. But what I kept thinking was, its always the same and if it changes I wont be able to see it.

It might have been the sausage, cheese and sour cream I ate before bed. Or even something else. But it got me thinking. How true is that of us? We come to church, or to a family function or a gathering or something; and many times we cant see what has changed. Many times I think we notice, but dont want to notice and therefore dont recognise the change. But sometimes I think that we are so wrapped up in things, in our own little world, that we just cant notice the change and just totally miss it.

For instance: My little sister is thirteen. To me she will always be little, with a soother, eating cat food. But recently I noticed that she is seriously growing.... not necesarily matureing in some ways, but definately growing. Many times Ill look for her at church, or at other functions and I cant find her because I dont recognise her!

I also never remember what grade shes in.

Seth is another example. It sounds funny, but when I talk to him I still expect him to not always be talking back! I was amazed when both he and Hanna were asking me questions about Volcanos, Earthquakes, and other natural disasters. I remember when Seth followed my cat around and put her toys in Garys shoes for him to find later!

Its funny how we expect everything to stay the same, and are taken abac by change, even if its sometime for the better. We get so caught up in a routine, that when it changes our world seems out of line and the world may come to an end. Weather its changing seats at church because were running so absolutely packed Sundays that we need every seat we can get, or coming to the realization that your younger brother is supposed to graduate next year, and can get his drivers license (Lord help us ALL!). I think everyone needs to open their eyes and see that things are changing, and if you dont keep up, it wont wait for you!

Bo's thirteen? jk you're so right. I just realized that it was the end of 2009. So far as I know, I've been conscious every moment of this year, and just now I realize it's coming to a close. 2010! Someone stop me, I'm getting old
